Tesla recall: almost 1.1 million autos on automated window sensor defect



DETROIT (AP) — Tesla is recalling almost 1.1 million autos within the U.S. as a result of the home windows can pinch an individual’s fingers when being rolled up.

Tesla says in paperwork posted Thursday by U.S. security regulators that the automated window reversal system could not react accurately after detecting an obstruction.

The Nationwide Freeway Site visitors Security Administration says that’s a violation of federal security requirements for energy home windows. A web-based software program replace will repair the issue, Tesla says.

The recall covers sure 2017 to 2022 Mannequin 3 sedans and a few 2020 and 2021 Mannequin Y SUVs. Additionally included are some Mannequin S sedans and Mannequin X SUVs from 2021 and 2022.

Tesla found the issue throughout manufacturing testing in August. House owners can be notified by letter beginning Nov. 15. The corporate says in paperwork that autos in manufacturing received the replace beginning Sept. 13.
