Mackay welcomes new First Year Constables

Mackay welcomes new First Year Constables

5 new officers will in the present day be welcomed to Mackay, starting their careers as First 12 months Constables (FYCs) with the Queensland Police Service (QPS).

The cohort, a part of 107 current graduates who’ve been deployed to stations throughout the state, have spent the previous six months on the academy and can now undertake an extra 12 months of station-based coaching as FYCs.

Mackay Police District Officer, Superintendent Graeme Paine, mentioned the brand new officers can be welcomed to the district at an orientation on Thursday earlier than heading out to their stations within the coming days.

“That is such an thrilling second for these officers as they now start their careers within the Queensland Police Service,” he mentioned.

“These officers will start a 12-month program which sees them assessed on their administration of a variety of real-world policing situations.

“I congratulate them on the unbelievable efforts they’ve put into their coaching to-date and welcome them to Mackay to start out the subsequent step of their policing careers.”

Three of those FYCs will begin their profession in Mackay Station, the opposite two shall be primarily based at Mackay Northern Seashores Station
