(Reuters) – The biggest U.S. oil commerce teams mentioned on Tuesday that it has “vital issues” that the Biden administration is contemplating limiting gas exports to decrease client costs and urged prime officers to take the choice off the desk, based on a letter seen by Reuters.

The joint letter by the American Petroleum Institute and the American Gasoline and Petrochemical Manufactures to Vitality Secretary Jennifer Granholm represents the newest conflict between the oil trade and the Biden administration over who’s guilty for prime vitality costs.

In August, Granholm despatched a letter to refiners urging them to focus extra on constructing home inventories of gasoline and diesel and fewer on exports. She warned if not the administration would wish to think about “emergency measures.”

On Friday, Granholm and prime White Home officers repeated that warning in a hastily-called digital assembly. White Home officers have mentioned the restrictions aren’t being thought of “presently.”
